Okay, let's learn how to get that ebook cover of yours up!

Step 1. Download a Photoshop mockup of your cover.

A mockup downloaded from the net would look typically look like that:

There are also iPad/ Macbook Pro/ iMac mockups available – the process is the same.

You could get these for free all around the internet (or pay a nominal sum) – just do a Google search. CoverVault has many nice mockups.

Step 2. Open up the mockup in Photoshop

Open up the PDF mockup file in Photoshop.

Then, find the image (jpg / png) that you want as your ebook cover. Open it up in Photoshop and copy it:

Next, go back to your mockup file, select the layer where you want to insert your image in:

… and paste your image (ctrl + v)  in. After pasting your image in, use (shift + ctrl + T) to resize it if you wish.

Step 3. Fit the image into your mockup

Select the image layer that you've just pasted, right-click on the layer and select "Create a clipping mask."

This will superimpose your image into the ebook mockup cover.

Step 4. Edit to ensure that image looks natural in your ebook cover

Select the image layer that you've just pasted, press CTRL + T. You'll see this:

Resize accordingly. (Use Shift + Ctrl + T instead if you want to resize without losing the existing width – height ratio).

Right click on your image and click on "Distort":
