Step 1

Firstly, start off by lightly sketching the basic shapes that make up the alligator's form….ovals…half circles, a rectangle…etc

On the top of the eyes….draw a sideways number '3'…draw circles for eyes and the pupils / irises. I realized after I did the tutorials that I did different eyes in the tutorial and the final drawing – if you like the eyes from the final drawing better….follow the eye steps below.

OTHER – EYE STEPS

Step 2.1

Draw a bigger circle and a smaller circle…overlapping…like a sideways number '8'.

Step 2.2

Draw a smaller and bigger filled in circle within each eye.

Draw a white circle in eye eye for the highlight.

Now draw a backwards letter 'c' at the right corner of the rectangle. Draw a bubble letter 'J' at the bottom right corner of the rectangle. The bubble letter 'J' has zig-zags inside of it for teeth.

Now draw a backwards letter 'c' right next to the bubble letter 'J'…and on the left side of the bubble letter 'J', make a letter 'c' too. Draw a circle next to each letter 'c'. Then draw lines connecting all of the elements.

Draw an oval for the body. Draw another oval within the first oval. Start drawing the arms.

Draw a sideways, capital letter 'D' for each foot. for the tail….just draw a line on either side of the line that you drew in step #1 for the tail. At the end of the tail…draw a sideways letter 'V'. Draw letter 'v's or zig-zags all over the tail and back of the alligator.

Draw letter 'v's for fingers. Erase guidelines and any mistakes that you made and then darken the 'correct' lines.
